View from The Kirk Steeple
Over 2008 and 2009 the Church of Scotland decided to give the Kirk a makeover. A new roof was installed, walls pointed, stonework repaired and the clock was serviced/refurbished. All in all the work should stand the Kirk in good stead for the foreseeable future.
During the makeover period I took the opportunity, with permission – from Hillside Slaters (thank you once again), to climb the scaffolding and take photos of the village and surrounds at various parts of the seasons. The scaffolding didn’t go to the top of the spire, which was a pity as it would have allowed better photos of the centre of the village, but nonetheless there were some good shots to be had.
The photos are numbered and dated so that you can see the scenes change with the seasons. If you would like any of the images, please ask.
I have a lot more photos than within this web page, some of which may be of interest to villagers or those who used to live in the village. If you would like to drop me an eMail with a request or requests of a specific view, I will see what I have.
Note: There will be no charge involved to supply a jpeg image, however if anyone does wish to make a donation then it will be given to Macmillan Cancer Relief.
